We provide a flexible independent Social Work service to meet specific requirements for Courts, Solicitors and Local Authorities.
In addition to the standard assessments listed below, we have experience of undertaking intensive parenting skills assessments in the family home in order to advise about the way forward. This can avoid the need for disruptive residential placements, prevents detrimental delay and can be extremely cost effective.
Such assessments can be phased, dependent upon progress. They can involve teaching, interim 'feedback' to parents and professionals along with assessment of ability to implement advice. Specific areas of work can be focussed upon or previous assessments updated.
In some instances, a need for particular pieces of work is identified, e.g. ability to protect and this can be included in any package drawn up to meet particular needs.
Standard assessment can usually be completed within eight to ten weeks of receipt of relevant documents, granting of prior authority for funding and the letter of instruction.
In some instances co-working is suggested in order to take account of gender for example, or to manage complex matter in a more considered way.
Types of assessment generally undertaken:
Comprehensive Parenting Skills
Form F Assessments F(1) and F(2)
Assessments for Private Law contact/residence disputes
Contact Supervision and facilitation
Comment on effect of parenting capacity in personal injury litigation
